Job Description:

As a Chat & Email Support Specialist for ADASUK, you will play a pivotal role in extending our reach and offering a lifeline to individuals seeking help and guidance related to alcohol and drug issues. You will be a compassionate, non-judgmental, and knowledgeable resource, assisting clients through chat and email communication to address their concerns and provide them with valuable information and support.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Chat and Email Support: Provide real-time chat and email support to individuals seeking assistance with alcohol and drug-related questions and concerns. Maintain a professional and empathetic tone in all interactions.
  2. Assessment and Information: Conduct initial assessments to better understand the clients’ specific needs and concerns. Provide relevant information on available resources, treatment options, and support services.
  3. Crisis Intervention: Handle crisis situations with composure and professionalism, offering immediate support and guidance while following established protocols for crisis intervention.
  4. Resource Referrals: Connect clients with relevant local and national resources, including treatment centres, support groups, and counselling services.
  5. Documentation: Maintain detailed records of client interactions, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is recorded for follow-up and data analysis
  6. Continuous Learning: Stay informed about the latest developments in addiction treatment and recovery methods to provide the most accurate and current information to clients.
  7. Maintain Confidentiality: Adhere to strict confidentiality standards to protect the privacy and well-being of clients.


Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s degree in psychology, counselling, social work, or a related field (preferred).

– Strong written and verbal communication skills.

– Excellent active listening skills and empathy.

– Knowledge of alcohol and drug addiction, treatment options, and recovery resources.

– Experience in crisis intervention and mental health support is a plus.

– Familiarity with online chat and email support tools.
